There are in Cameroon 11 Universities distributed in ten regions of Cameroon. These are following structures without taking into account any particular ranking: the University of Bamenda, the University of Buéa, the University of Douala, the University of Dschang, the University of Maroua, the University of Ngaoundéré, the University of Yaoundé I, the University of Yaoundé II-Soa, the University of Bertoua, the University of Ebolowa and the University of Garoua.

University of Bamenda

The University of Bamenda, (UBa) was created by Presidential Decree N°2010/372 of 14th december 2010. The vision of the University is to be a leading institution of higher learning geared towards meeting present and future development challenges through efficient teaching, research and sterling innovation. The University of Bamenda has the following missions: • To provide quality need-based teaching and research in all fields of learning and human endeavours; • To instill into the students a lifelong probity and hands on intellectual insurance; • To address dynamic development needs in the backdrop of national and international socio-economic and environmental challenges; • To implant in its students the Anglo-Saxon values which are based on the Oxon-Cantab system without sacrificing the gains of cultural diversity. The University of Bamenda is opened to holders of at least five GCE O-Level papers including English Language and at least two A-Level papers subjects. Admission into professional schools and the Faculty of Health Sciences is through a competitive entrance examination.

University of Buea

Admission conditions are the same for all establishments of the University, with the exception of schools and faculties which are admitted by competitive examination. For all those who have had a bachelor’sAdvanced Level, the process of rollout or registration takes place partly online. The ability to master the English language may be required for students who have followed a French course during secondary education. However, registration usually begins with an orientation session For all those who have had a bachelor’s degree during which students are explained to the training opportunities that are offered. or equivalent in English GCE / Once the pupil or student has made up his mind, if he has been admitted to enroll in the University, he must upload his letter of admission on the website of the university.

University of Douala

The University of Douala is located in the center of the economic capital of Cameroon. Created on April 13, 1992 following the transformation of the University Center of Douala into a University, it is now composed of six (6) faculties and four (4) major schools. The University of Douala extends over five campuses: o Campus I in Bassa (ESSEC, FLSH, FSEGA, FSJP); o Campus II located in Ndogbong (IUT, ENSET, FS, FGI, FSMP); o The Akwa C3 campus (Doctoral Schools); o The MATGENIE campus (classrooms shared between FLSH, FSEGA, FSJP). o The PK 17 campus (IUT, FGI). Geographically, the University of Douala is located in the capital of the Littoral region and the department of Wouri.

University of Dschang

The University of Dschang (UDs) is one of the 11 state universities in Cameroon. Created in favor of the university reform by decree n ° 93/026 of January 19, 1993, it inherits the former University Center of Dschang which had an essentially agro-sylvo-pastoral vocation. To date, eight establishments are actually operating there. The institution has nine campuses in 6 of the 10 regions of the country, namely, educational and research branches in Bambui (North-West), Belabo (East), Ebolowa (South), Maroua (Far North), Yaoundé -Nkolbisson (Center), Bafia (Center). To the west, we have the main campus in Dschang and two establishments in Bandjoun and Foumban.

University of Ngaoundere

The University of Ngaoundéré was created by presidential decree N° 93/028 of January 19, 1993. It resulted from the transformation of the University Center of Ngaoundéré into a University. The University of Ngaoundéré is located in Dang, a suburb located 15 km from Ngaoundéré, capital of the Adamaoua region. Ngaoundéré is a crossroads city that serves as a transition between North and South Cameroon. It is considered the water tower of Cameroon, as many rivers have their source there.

University of Yaounde 1

The University of Yaoundé I is located on the hill of Ngoa Ekelle, west of the city of Yaoundé, the political capital of Cameroon. It is made up of four major faculties and four major schools. There are also doctoral schools there.

University of Yaounde 2

The University of Yaoundé II was created on January 19, 1993 by Decree No. 93/026 establishing the State Universities of Cameroon. It therefore comes from the former University of Yaoundé. It is built on five (05) campuses: -the Soa campus which houses the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences (FSJP) and the Faculty of Economics and Management (FSEG) the Ngoa Ekelle campus where the Higher School of Information and Communication Sciences and Techniques (ESSTIC) and the Institute of Demographic Training and Research (IFORD) are built -the Obili campus where the Institute of International Relations of Cameroon (IRIC) is housed -the Bertoua campus, Annex of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences (FSJP) -the Ebolowa campus, Annex of the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences (FSJP)
